الأوراق الآثمة، ذاكرة ارتمت أحداثها فوق صفحات وطن اسمه لبنان، وتوزعت على بيدر الحياة فيه محاصيل لأرواحٍ التحفت مآسي الحرب وتدثّرت بعناوين القتل والموت واليتم، وغرفت من سواقي الهجرة المالحة دموعاً صاخبة تبكي الأم والأب والوطن.
هي أوراق زينة، المرشدة الإجتماعية، ابنة العائلة العرجاء من دون أم، في علاقتها بمدرّس الرياضيات الكفيف غسان وكيفية تبدلها من واجب الإرشاد له إلى إستغلال بطاله وعائلته المؤلفة من زوجة وابنة صغيرة.
وتتشعب أقنية السرد في الرواية لتطال علاقتها بتجيب المصور والغريب الأطوار، وبميشال المحامي اللاهث خلف ثروة مختبئة في أرقام البورصة، وكذلك بيونس سائق الأجرة الذي يبكي دموع الهجرة وفقدان الأم ورفاق السلاح، إضافة إلى علاقتها بحاتم، المجاز في الحقوق، والمتربّع على عرش البطالة والذي قتل والدها قتلاً رحيماً بدافع الصداقة، وصولاً إلى "مدحت المفتش" في وزارة التربية والتعليم العالي.
وهذه العلاقات التي توزعت تفاصيل مآسيها على أشرعة سفن تسيّرها عناوين الموت الرحيم والخيانة والضمير المهني، وعلاقة الرجل بالمرأة، إضافة إلى مفهوم العائلة، تلك النواة الأساسية في المجتمع، ودورها في تحقيق الأمان النفسي والإجتماعي للفرد.
"ذاكرة الأوراق الآثمة"، رواية تزيل القناع عن محنة الإنسان في بحثه عن هوية الإنتماء والتأقلم مع تناقض المرادفات في واقع يشبه كل واحد منّا في بحثه عن الهدف المنشود، "الذات الإنسانية والإبتعاد عن أسباب الكآبة".
