الثقافة الجمعية في بيئتنا تأبى التعلم بالخبرة من أخطاء الآخرين والأولين، فيكون التوجه الجمعي والفردي متصفاً ومتسماً بعدم القبول بالتطور الطبيعي ونقد الذات والموروث، فيأتي التجديد غصباً كما السيل، يجرف ما في طريقه ويدمر ما يمر به.
إنه لمن عظيم المأساة ودواعي خيبة الأمل، أنه وعلى قلة المراجع العربية التي تتحدث عن العرب تاريخاً قبل الإسلام، أو تلك المتخمة حديثاً عن العرب بعد الإسلام؛ أنها كثيراً ما تمعن في التزوير لتظهر العرب غالباً بمعنى البداوة وإنعدام التحضر، فأغلب ما كتب عن تاريخ العرب قبل الإسلام يعوزه الكثير من البحث والتدقيق، لأن أغلبه قصص أخذت من التوراة، أو روايات وضعها أشخاص لمآرب إقتضتها أحوال عصرها، وما كتب بعده خالطة الكثير مما تعلّق بالسياسة التي راجت في عصره، إلا أنّ الحضارة والثقافة الجمعية لا تتلاشى وتختفي، وإنما يجري طمسها ومحوها وتدميرها.
بحث يترك المُبحر فيه كمن يخرج بزورق من جنبات المضيق إلى لجوج المحيط الهائج وأمواجه المتلاطمة...
