إنني حين ولدت نظر والدي لتقلب لون عيني من الأسود إلى الأبيض ومن يومها تحولت العلاقة بيني وبينه إلى علاقة صامتة، أشعر به يلحظني ويتابعني من بعيد دون أن يتدخل في تصرفاتي.
والدي لم ينسج لنفسه حلماً وردياً يعيش به ويتطلع إليه، لم يلجأ للأطباء مطارداً سراب الشفاء وعودة نور البصر لعيني البيضاء، كنت في قلب لوحة الحياة، وكان والدي خارج لوحتي التي أرسمها.
أمي القروية لجأت لكل ما يصفه لها عجائز القرية من وصفات، فتبيت على عينيّ كل ليلة قطعة من القماش المحشو عجينة دبقة أو عشبة لها رائحة عفنة، وحين أستيقظ لا أستطيع فصل رمشيّ عن بعضهما لما قد أطبق عليها من كل ما يثير شهية الذباب العنيد.
