في هذا العمل يقترى الشاعر البحراني "علي الشرقاوي" الواقع العربي في مسرحية جاءت في تسعة عشرة مشهداً، جسدت تلك الإشكالية القديمة - الحديثة - بين الحاكم والمحكوم، الغنى والفقر، الحكمة والرأي، الشهرة والمال، والظالم والمظلوم، هي رؤى كاتب مثقف متنور خرج من رحم المأساة ليمزج في أعماله الأدبية الماضي بالحاضر يأخذ معه القارئ في فضاء التجربة الروحية على المستوى الإنساني، ليكتب في عالم الممنوع والمسكوت عنه في مجتمعات كان الإستلاب الفكري عنوانها.
في تجربته المسرحية هذه يحاول هذا الشاعر التواصل مع الآخر برموز وإشارات تحمل دلالات تبحث عن الجوهر، جوهر الأشياء، وغاية الوجود، شخوص مسرحيته عفيراء وزرقاء، وقابس، وبائع العبيد والطفل محبوب الذي لم يبلغ العاشرة من عمره، هذه التوليفة من البشر، أدارها الشرقاوي بحنكة عالية، ليُعبر بهم عن تلك الرغبة الكلية للبقاء والإنسجام والتكامل رغم كل الألم الذي يحيط بهم، فهم متفاعلون مع واقعهم "أرض جديس" التي اختارها لتدور عليها أحداث المسرحية، حيث أرض الحرمان، واللاعدالة أو بالأمرين أرض المظالم والدوامة التي لا خروج منها، هي تجسد واقعنا العربي بكل تجلياته وتعقيداته الأيديولوجية، فإذا ما كشفنا الستار عن "المشهد الثامن عشر" في المسرحية سنرى "الحراس يأتون بالزرقاء مقيدة بالسلاسل" شعرها أشعت وثيابها ممزقة، حسان: هايا زرقاء، عيونك لم تنفع أهلك، الزرقاء: ما ذنبي لو كان بهم صممٌ والحاكم لا يسمع قول المحكوم والمتخم لا يسمع أنات الجائع، والتاجر لا يسمع آهات الصملوك"...
"ثلاثية الزرقاء" هي أكثر من عمل مسرحي، هي ملحمة تجسد قانون عدم القدرة قانون التعبير عن العجز واليأس والقلق الذي نعيشه في داخلنا، فجاء هذا العمل مساهمة نقدية أضاء بها المؤلف عن كل هذا الإغتراب الذي كبل إرادة شعوبنا وكأني به يطلق ثورة، أو بالأحرى صرخة ضد الظلم، ويحث قارئه نحو التغيير.
