شمس الدين أبو العون محمد بن أحمد بن سالم بن سليمان السَّفّارِيني (1114 - 1188 هـ) إمام علامة فلسطيني، ومحدّث حافظ مسنِد، وفقيه أصولي، وصوفي ومؤرخ، ولد في قرية سَفّارِين من قرى طولكرم في فلسطين، وهو أحد أعلام الحنابلة.
نشأته
ولد الإمام العلامة محمد بن أحمد بن سالم بن سليمان السفاريني في قرية سفارين من قرى طولكرم عام 1114 هـ/ 1701م، ونشأ بها، ودرس القرآن، وتعد عائلته إحدى عائلات طولكرم.
طلبه للعلم وشيوخه
درس وقرأ القرآن في فلسطين عام 1718م، واشتغل بالعلم قليلاً، ثم ارتحل إلى دمشق عام 1720م، حيث مكث هناك حوالي خمس سنوات، فقرأ بها على:

هذا الكتاب كما سماه مؤلفه: دُرَّة مضيَّة في عقد أهل الفرقة المرضية، وهو نظم سهل الحفظ نظمه المؤلف كما ذكر: على اعتقاد ذي السداد الحنبلي إمام أهل الحق ذي القدر العلي وقسم الكتاب أبواباً، جعل الأول في معرفة الله تعالى، والثاني في الأثر، والثالث في الأحكام، ثم الكلام على الإيمان، وأشراط الساعة، وذكر النبوة وفصل نبينا وأولي العزم وغيرهم وكرامات الأولياء والمفاضلة بين البشر والملائكة والإمامة.
