الأخرى، لم يول النقاد والدراسون اهتماماً لعتبات النص إلا في الدراسات السيميائية المعاصرة، حيث إهتمت السيميائية بكل ما يحيط بالنص من عناوين، ومقدمات، وهوامش، وتنبيهات... وذلك بعدما تبين أنها من المفاتيح السحرية المهمة في اقتحام أغوار النص وفتح مغاليقه ومجاهليه، فغدت هذه الدراسات لا تخلة من إشارات – ولو باقتطاب – إلى العتبات النصية وبخاصة العنوان، بإعتباره العتبة الرئيسية التي تفرض على الدراس ان يتفحصها ويستنطقها قبل الولوج إلى أعمتق النص. وأما منهج التحليل المتبع في هذا الكتاب، فإن طبيعة الموضوع فؤضت حضور المنهج السيميائي بوصفه الأقدر على فك شيفرات العناوين وتفجير دلالاتها وإستنباط جمالياتها، على أن هذا لم يمنع من الإستعانة ببعض المناهج كالمنهج الإحصائي والمنهج الوصفي التحليلي.
