يتقرب المسلم إلى الله تعالى بالعبادات المختلفة ومن بين أهم تلك العبادات التي يتقرب بها إلى الله وهي (الدعاء) يؤكد هذه الحقيقة قول النبي (ص): "الدعاء مخ العبادة" وهذا إبراز لأهميته كعبادة ينال بها المؤمن الأجر والثواب ويحقق الغرض المرجو منه.
ولأن الدعاء واحداً من طرق السعادة لا يطرقه إلا أهل الله العارفون به، وهو دأب الأنبياء والصالحون وملجأهم الذي يفزعون إليه إذا حزبهم أمر وألمَّ بهم هم، يجمع نور الصائغ في كتاب واحد (244 دعاء) يضم بين صفحاته أهم الأدعية التي تتصل بسعادة الإنسان في الدنيا والآخرة. وهي مما اختاره للقارىء من روايات أهل البيت وكتبهم المعتبرة وأحاديثهم الواردة عن النبي (ص) وأهل بيته الطيبين الطاهرين بما فيها من صلوات وأوراد مجرّبة تهم المسلم في حياته الدنيوية وتنفعه في حياته الأخروية. وجاءت تحت عناوين مختلفة نذكر منها: منافع الدعاء بـ لا إله إلا الله، منافع الإستغفار، التسبيحات الأربع، دعاء علمه جبريل عليه السلام للنبي (ص)، دعاء لأمير المؤمنين علي رضي الله عنه في صفين، دعاء اليماني، دعاء عن فاطمة الزهراء رضي الله عنها، دعاء علمه أمير المؤمنين لإبنه الحسن، دعاء عن الباقر (الجامع)، دعاء نوح، دعاء إدريس، دعاء إبراهيم، دعاء أيوب، دعاء موسى، إلى آخر ذلك من أدعية وأسرار حفلت بها سور القرآن الكريم؛ لقضاء الحاجة والأمان والرزق وطلب الذرية وكتابات للمرأة العاقر وغيرها كثير.
