"مدخل إلى العهد القديم" كتاب توزعت مادته على ثلاثة أسفار شكل الأول منها مدخلاً إلى النسيج التاريخي الذي يعلم منه الأنبياء، وقامت على أساسه المزامير والكتب المنتمية إلى أدب الحكمة (أيوب، الأمثال، الخ). وهو كتاب موضوع للاستعمال في الصفوف، وللتعليم في مدارس الأحد، والرعايا، وفي معاهد اللاهوت.
أما الثاني فوازى الأول من حيث توضيح المستويات المختلفة من التقليد الموجود في كتب العهد القديم. قاد الأب طرزي قارئه إلى فهم النبي كفرد وإلى إدراك كنه الرسالة التي نقلها النبي شخصياً إلى معاصريه. فأظهر كيف أن كل طبقة من التقليد لا تحجب تلك الرسالة لكنها تجعلها واضحة وقابلة للتطبيق في أجيال لاحقة. وقد شرح الأب طرزي العملية بشكل يؤدي الوظيفة عينها بالنسبة إلى جيلنا نحن "مضيئاً درب كلمة الله النبوية الطويلة والمتعرج أحياناً على مرّ العصور".
أما في السفر الثالث فأظهر الأب بوليس ظرزي أنه لمن غير الممكن فهم هذه المزامير بمجرد قراءتها بلغة مترجمة عن الأصل العبري. ويزودنا الأب طرزي بخلفية أساسية قوامها لغة أولئك الذين كتبوا هذه المزاميز واستعملوها ونشروها بالإضافة إلى ثقافتهم وتاريخهم. مما يقود إلى مفاهيم جديدة لمفردات عادية مثل ملك، إله، ربّ، عدالة... وكذلك فسر الأب بولس طرزي كيف استعملت هذه المزامير في الصلوات وبين الأسباب. كما أن تفسره أدب الحكمة يلقي الضوء على مفهوم الكتاب المقدس ويؤدي تالياً إلى شرح كيف أن العهدين القديم والجديد يشكلان كتاباً مقدساً مسيحياً واحداً موحداً يكون فيه للعهد القديم دور لا يقل أهمية عن العهد الجديد.
