في مقال لـ"هاشم كرار" بعنوان "غسان تويني .. حكمة على حافة قبر!" يقول: " ... من قال إن الرؤيا، لا تنبىء بالخير في لبنان، لا يعرف أن في لبنان غسان تويني، ولا يعرف أن في لبنان – مثل هذا الرجل – رجال! لو كنت في لبنان، لكنت قد نقشت حديث غسان، في العلم الذي يرفرف بالأرز، ولكنت قد همست، في أذن كل صبية، من أولئك اللائي أسفرن عن الجمال، للدفاع عن إستقلالية لبنان، أن يتوشحن بهذا الحديث الهُمام، ويتمكيجن، ويرفعن علامات النصر في ساحة الشهداء. إصبعاً .. إصبعاً .. وكل إصبع، هو حرف من حديث الرجل، الذي لم يبق له في الدنيا، إلا لبنان! ...".
