تزعم هذه الدراسة أنها تضع البدائل والحلول لإزالة الفجوة بين اللغة النقدية وبين المبدع أو المتلقي، لكنها حاولت الاقتراب من لغة القصة القصيرة وكشف جماليتها في أسلوب لا يتمنع عن القارئ أو يزيده إرهاقاً فوق إرهاق...
وقد احتوت هذه الدراسة على أربعة فصول، قام الفصل الأول منها بمهمة تحديد المفاهيم الرئيسية وهي (الجمالية) كإحساس ذاتي وكعلم موضوعي، ثم (اللغة) وكيفية تفجير طاقتها الإبداعية داخل العمل الأدبي، و(القصة القصيرة) تحديداً والتي تعتبر مجالاً خصباً لمزج المفهومين السابقين.
وتناول الفصل الثاني أبرز تلك الخصائص الجمالية التي تنطوي عليها لغة القصة القصيرة، وهي خصائص عامة تشترك فيها الأجناس الأدبية كلها ولكنها تتميز بالخصوصية داخل البناء الفني للقصة القصيرة.
أما الفصل الثالث فقد اقترب من أدوات وتكنيكات القصة القصيرة وكيفية توظيف اللغة لهذا التكنيكات حتى تمنح القصة قيمها الجمالية، وانتهى الفصل الرابع إلى مناقشة بعض القضايا الملحة ذات الارتباط المباشر بجمالية اللغة في القصة القصيرة، كقضية الشفاهية الكتابية، وقضية القواعد والمعايير اللغوية، وقضية الشكل والمضمون، وأخيراً قضية المعنى أو الدلالة التي نحصل عليها من خلال القصة.
