من القرآن ما نزل لسبب، ومنه ما نزل إبتداءً بعقائد الإيمان وواجبات الإسلام، وغير ذلك من التشريع، فغالبية المسلمون يشتركون في دوافعهم الإيمانية لمعرفة أسباب نزول الآيات القرآنية، وهذا ما حدا بالشيخ "أبي عبد الرحمن مقبل بن هادي الوادعي" المتوفي سنة 1422هـ إلى وضع كتاب "في الصحيح المسند من أسباب النزول" وذلك لأهمية تفسير كتاب الله وسنة رسوله والتي هي عماد الدين الإسلامي، ولأن معرفة سبب نزول الآية تعين المؤمن على فهمها، حيث أشكلت بعض الآيات على الصحابة حتى عرفوا سبب نزولها، فقد أشكل على عروة مثلاً قوله: "إن الصفا والمروة من شعائر الله" حتى أخبرته عائشة رضي الله عنها بسبب نزولها. تأتي أهمية هذا الكتاب من أن أسباب النزول قد دخل الدخيل، وقد ذهب الذين يعلمون فيما أنزل القرآن فأصبح كل أحد يخترع شيئاً، ويختلق إفكاً وكذباً، يلقى زمامه إلى الجهالة، فجاء هذا الكتاب الجامع للأسباب، لينتهي إليه طالبوا هذا الشأن والمتكلمون في نزول القرآن، فيعرفوا الصدق ويستغنوا عن التمويه والكذب. لقد كان علماء الإسلام لا يقبلون الحديث إلا بسنده، ففي "صحيح مسلم" عن عبدان قال: سمعت عبد الله بن المبارك يقول: الإسناد عندي من الدين، ولولا الإسناد لقل من شاء ما شاء. هذا الكتاب مرجع هام لكل مسلم يريد توخي الفهم الصحيح لأسباب النزول الآيات القرآنية على يد علماء أجلاء كالشيخ أبي عبد الرحمن بن مقبل بن هادي الوادعي مدعمة وموثقة بكتاب الله (القرآن الكريم) وأحاديث النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم المسندة.
