إذا ما كان بعض القرّاء الأعزاء قد استطالوا تعاملي مع التحولات السياسية والاجتماعية خلال المئة عامٍ من عمر الدولة الأردنية، عبر روايتي «ذيب الصالح»، التي صدرت في خمسة أقسامٍ، ولا أقول أجزاء، حكمتها محطات تاريخيّة،كانت المحرّك الرئيس للتحولات التي حدثت، ونتيجة لها في الوقت نفسه.
في «زمن مرجانة» لم أخرج عن السياق الذي نهجته في «ذيب الصالح»، فظلّ الاهتمام بالتحولات الاجتماعية والاقتصادية العمود الفقري الأهمّ واللافت للاهتمام الروائي.
لقد اعتدنا أن يكون أبطال أعمالنا الروائية الرئيسين رجالاً، انطلاقاً من ذكورية تفكيرنا وثقافتنا. أمّا في «زمن مرجانة» فالبطولة للمرأة، امرأة مناضلة بالفطرة، غير مؤدلجة، ولا ناشطة في حزب سياسي.
