تمثل مشكلة الإبداع الفني في مجال ما يسمى بالفنون الجميلة أعمق هذه المشاكل وأدقها، كما أنها تمثل من جهة أخرى أعقد تلك المشاكل وأكثرها غموضاً. ولعل هذا ما يفسر سر تضارب الأقوال حولها، وتباين الآراء فيها واختلاف النظريات التي تناولتها وتنافر المواقف بصددها.
وبسبب ذلك يقع كل من يتصدى لهذه المشكلة، أو يطلع على الكتابات التي سالت فيها الأقلام عنها، في حيرة وتخبط وغموض. ولم لا؟ وهو يرى من يعلق هذه المشكلة على حبال الأساطير والخرافات والغيبات، أو يحلق بها في سماء الوحي واللاهوت، أو يردها إلى ضياء العقل ونوره، أو يتلمسها في ثنايا الواقع الاجتماعي والتاريخي، أو يتغلغل بها إلى أغوار النفس وخفاياها.
ويحتوي هذا الكتاب الذي بين أيدينا على دراسة تنقسم إلى ثلاثة أبواب وتناول فلسفة الفن وذلك من زوايا متعددة، في الباب الأول تم تناول الآراء والمواقف التي تناولت مشكلة الإبداع الفني بالتفسير والرصف، وذلك من خلال أربع نظريات رئيسية هي على التوالي: نظرية الإلهام أو العبقرية، فالنظرية العقلية، فالنظرية الاجتماعية فالنظرية السيكولوحية. أما الباب الثاني فخصص لتناول تلك النظريات بالنقد والتعليق هذا وقدم الباب الثالث رؤية جديدة لمشكلة الإبداع الفني.
