"كتابي الأول" سلسلة تعليمية تربوية تعني بتعليم الطفل بعض المعارف الأساسية التي يحتاج إلى الإلمام بها كمعرفة الوقت والتمييز بين ألوان والأشكال وقراءة الحروف والأرقام، وتتميز هذه السلسلة بألوان صفحاتها المتميزة وبرسومها المتنوعة والمقابلة المادة التي تطرحها، كما وتتميز بأنها قد جاءت بثلاثة لغات الإنكليزية والعربية وما يقابلهما بالفرنسية، وهذا ما يجعل من كتبها أدوات تعليمية يمكن اعتمادها في مرحلة رياض الأطفال.
وهذا الكتاب الذي بين يدينا هو واحد من كتب هذه السلسلة وهو مصمم ليستخدمه الصغار بمساعدة الكبار والهدف منه مساعدة الأطفال على تنمية إحساسهم بالوقت، وتعويدهم على الساعات وبدء تدريبهم على استخدام الوقت.
يبدأ الكتاب بعرض أقسام الساعة وأجزائها وهذا كما أ سلفنا بلغات ثلاث ثم ينتقل لعرض لوحات كبيرة تجمع بين صورة للساعة ومشهد طبيعي يحدد تقلبات الوقت وصورة طفل يزاول أشياء معينة تتناسب مع الوقت كأن ينام عند الساعة الثامنة مساءً وينهي دروسه عند الساعة الرابعة وهكذا إلى جانب هذا ألحقت الصور بجمل قصيرة تشرح ماذا يحدث معينتاً الوقت، من ثم جاءت صفحات محددة تعرض لصور ساعات مختلفة قديمة وحديثة كل منها تشير إلى ساعة معينة من الوقت، أما صفحات الكتاب أن الأخيرة فجاءت كتمارين تطبيقية هدفها تدريب الطفل على قراءة الوقت بالساعة وأنصاف الساعات.
