في اللافتة الشعرية الأولى التي تستهل بها الشاعرة هنادي زرقة مجموعتها الشعرية "الزهايمر" تتلبس الذات الشاعرة حالة خاصة قائمة في الحياة: "أحسد مرضى الزهايمر، لا فرح، لا حزن، لا الم، يعيشون طفولتهم مرتين، ولا شيء يقلقهم.. وتتشظى هذه الثيمة بشذراتها النصية والإيقاعية والدلالية عبر النسيج الكلي لقصائد المجموعة لتقيم الشاعرة بها خطابها الشعري بمستويات وجدانية وتأملية، يتم التركيز فيها – وفقاً للشاعرة – "على حالة امرأتين، عجوز وشابة، صادف أن إحداهما أم للأخرى، وما تمر به المرأتان من إخفاقات وخذلان ووحشة، امرأتان تخوضان حروبهما الأنثوية وحيدتين في مجتمع مزيّف ومنافق، قد يبدو أنهما متفقتان، بيد أنه في حقيقة الأمر، هناك صراع وتنافس يحكم علاقة الإبنة بالأم على الرغم من تعلقها الشديد بها. وكل امرأة منهما تخوض حربها على حدة، في "الزهايمر" تلك الخيبة والشعور المرير بالنكران الذي يتعرض له الفرد في مجتمعاتنا ما إن يُصاب بمرض نفسي".
تحت عنوان "أمي والذئب" تقول الشاعرة: "أستيقظ في الليل / عازمة على أن أعقد صفقة مع الذئب! / الذئب! / لم لا ؟! / لن اركض وراء دجاجاتك إلى الأبد / منذ أربعين عاماً وأنتِ / توقظينني / لأبحث عن دجاجاتك الضائعة ...". إن الشاعرة هنا تستعير مقترباً حسياً قريباً من صورة الأم المصابة بمرض الزهايمر، فصورها تقوم على المزاوجة بين الذهني والتصويري، وعبر لغة إشارية تتشكل من مجموعة من الألفاظ تؤدي إلى تصريف الأفكار عبر نسق رؤيوي تجريدي تقوده الشاعرة إلى مساحات جمالية دينامية بفعل الوعي الشعري.
تضم المجموعة "الزهايمر" ثمانية عشر قصيدة نثرية جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "سأعتاد غيابك" ، "كأنني حقيبة رثة" ، "أزهار ماضية إلى حتفها" ، "كأنني أشبه غيري من النساء" ، "ساعة معطلة" (...) وقصائد أخرى.
