في (رجل تحت الصفر) بوح شعري شفيف، يحفل بالرومانسية يحمله الشاعر... "نجد السلمان" بين ضلوعه ويسكبه شعراً حراً، يناجي به من أحب، يقول الشاعر: "ما زلت هنا يا سوسنتي/ أكبح حرفاً../ أكتب.. حرفاً/ أتأمل هلوسة يراعٍ/ قد صار من بعدك../ خرفاً/ يتلو هذياناً../ وطلاسم/ تتخطى العادة../ والعرفا (...) أيعاقب رجل لا يعرف/ ما الذنب في الحب... اقترفا؟!".
هي قصائد حالمة، تخترق أصداء النفس، تلوذ بصمت هادئ وتنتهي بتساؤل دال على نفس شاعر مزنرة بالحزن، يحاول أن يتخطاه إلى غدٍ أجمل، يقول "إشتقت إليك معذبتي/ إستقت إلى الحب الأول/ إشتقت إلى العشق الخالد/ بين الصفصافة... والجدول/ وأفكر.. هل لي من أملٍ/ في العودة للثغر الأجمل (...)".
(رجل تحت الصفر) قصيدة طويلة تتألف من (89) مقطعاً شعرياً إنسابت بقلم يعشق المرأة، لم يستخدم فيها الشاعر لغة المجازات، وإنما كانت مكاشفة صريحة، وهذا ما يميزه عن غيره من شعراء.
