يفتتح طلال حماد مجموعته الشعرية الجديدة (طّل على وردة روحي بقصيدة هو الفتى المهداة ( إلى محمود في ذكرى غيابه الثانية) فيقول في بدايتها: صباح الخير أيّها الفتى/ متى سنلتق على ذلك الدرب الذي عبّدته بالقصيدة التي... أسميتها: وطن؟
ويجد القارئ أن الأم لا تغيب عن نصوص طلال، فهي حاضرة في الحياة والموت، في الوطن والمنفى، وهي الملاذ الأبدي الذي يفر إليه طلال كلما أضاعته الأوطان والمنافي، فيقول في:
(وحيد بدون أمي) أضعتني في القدس ولم أجدني في أريحا/ وفي عمّان بحثتُ عنّي / فسئلْتُ في تونس إن كنتُ قد متُّ / فعدْتُ إليّ.. / لأرى أنّ الموت اللئيم / قد يتّمني.. وأنَّني..أصبحتُ وحيداً.. في كلّ البلاد بدون أمّي/ فمن يحمني منّي إذا ما متّ بعيداً.. عن منفاي الأصل؟
ويظل الوطن وهمومه هي المفردة التي تملأ الأمكنة والأزمنة عند طلال، ويرى المتابع لنصوص المجموعة أن الوطن يحتل كل زاوية من جسد المجموعة لكنه وطن مشبع بالمرارة والنـزف.
وقد ضمت المجموعة النصوص التالية: الفتى، وحيد بدون أمي، أمي بلادي، الواح، قطارن، حيرة، لليانكي في هاييتي الفقيرة، مونوبوز، تابلو، أغنية لك، ثأر، خيانة موصوفة، حقيقة، الشاعر والقصيدة، أنا والموت، طائر جريح، ما بين امرأة وامرأة، أحبة قتلة، مائدة، ما أسوأك، 11/9/2009، سأعود، رحاب، العاصفة، ماذا أحب، الفارس الهمام، دعاء صباحي مع كل معلقتي سكر، القصيدة التي لم تقرأها ضحى بعد، عن المنفى وما حوله، حلم يلامس حد الجنون، إخلال بالنظام العام، من يعرفني؟، لغزة.. ومنها.. أنا أنهض!، لا مراء، غيمة سلام، الجريمة، أنا الآن لي، أحجيتان بأحد عشر مليونا، الفارس الذي لن يسقط، في البستان، حروب بعيدة المدى، لعكا وأخواتها هذا النشيد، أمي نامت، من يعيد لي أمي، رغبات مبيتة، ما السبب؟، لو يعرف الشاعر، في القدس.
