هذا الكتاب هو من أكثر الكتب تداولاً عند أتباع الطريقة النقشبندية، وخاصة المعاصرين منهم وهو كتاب جليل نافع، جمع فيه مؤلفه ثلاثة فنون جمع فيه مؤلفه ثلاث فنون: العقائد والفقه والتصوف، كل ذلك بعبارات سهلة غير معقدة.
وتبرز أهمية هذا العمل (أي الجمع: العقائد على مذهب الأشاعرة والفقه على مذهب الشافعية والتصوف على الطريقة النقشبندية) أن المؤلف عالم صوفي، ويريد أن يوصل رسالة إلى أتباع الطرق الصوفية إلى ضرورة الجمع بين هذه الفنون الثلاثة (العقيدة والفقه، والتصوف)، وعدم الاقتصار على التصوف فإن المعتدلين من الصوفية يعتبرون أن علوم الصوفية لا تتأتى إلا بعد تحصيل علوم النظر (التوحيد والفقه) وبعد القيام بالتكاليف الشرعية، غاية ما في الأمر أن الصوفية قد اختصوا بعلوم لا يختص بها غيرهم. فالمتصوفة بهذا المعنى أصحاب علوم أخرى تعد مظهراً آخر للإسلام هو المظهر السلوكي العملي. ويريد أن يوصل رسالة أخرى إلى غير أتباع الطرق الصوفية بنفي الاتهامات بأنهم لا يعترفون أو يهتمون بعلم الظاهر (الفقه) من هنا تبرز أهمية هذا الكتاب في جمع هذه الفنون في كتاب واحد.
