لما كان على المريد معرفة أولاً ما يجب معرفته على كل مطلق، من أصول الدين وفروعه، ليكون آمناً من الخطأ في ذهابه، وضع العارف بالله الشيخ محمد أمين الكردي للطلاب، كتاباً في هذا الباب، ورشحه ببعض الفوائد، من آثار الصوفية، يتأدب بها المريد الصادق وحباً في الإفادة، ذكر فيه ما يجب ذكره من أبواب الفروع، كالنكاح، والطلاق، والفرائض والبيوع، وزيادة فصول أخر، وشواهد ومسائل مهمة، بلا طول ممل، ولا اختصار مخل، وسماه (تنوير القلوب، في معاملة علام الغيوب) وجعله مرتباً على مقدمة وثلاثة أقسام وهي: المقدمة، القسم الأول: فيما تجب معرفته من أصول الدين. والقسم الثني: في الأحكام الفرعية على مذهب الإمام الشافعي. والقسم الثالث: في التصوف وما ينبغي للمريد أن يتخلق به من الآداب.
