يعد كتاب "كنز الدقائق" للإمام حافظ الدين النسفي (ت سنة 710ه) ، أحسن مختصر صُنف في فقه الأئمة الحنفية، في مجال الفتاوى، ولأهميته وضع العلاّمة زين الدين بن إبراهيم ... الشهير بإبن نجيم الحنفي (ت سنة 970ه) شرحاً يفصح عن منطوقه ومفهومه، ويردّ فروع الفتاوى والشروح إلى أصلها مع تفاريع كثيرة وتحريرات شريفة، ومن عصرنا الحاضر قام بتحقيق مجموع الشروح التي وضعت على هذا الكتاب الأستاذ أحمد عزو عناية الدمشقي، وجعله تحت عنوان: "البحر الرائق شرح كنز الدقائق"، وذكر تعريفه بالرجوع لما في "بديع النظام الجامع بين كتابي البزدوي والأحكام لإبن الساعاتي الذي قال: حقٌ على من حاول علماً أن يتصوره بحده أو رسمه، ويعرف موضوعه وغايته واستمداده، وبكلام آخر موضوع الكتاب هو في فعل المكلف من حيث أنه مكلف، يبحث فيه عما يعرض لفعله من حل وحرمةٍ ووجوب وندبٍ. والمراد بالمكلف البالغ العاقل. وأما في قوله استمداده فيعني بها أنه مستمد من الأصول الأربعة: الكتاب والسّنة والإجماع والقيام المستنبط من التشريع. وفي هذا يقول المحقق الدمشقي " وأما شريعة من قبلنا فتابعة للكتاب، وأما اقوال الصحابة فتابعة للسنّة، وأما تعامل الناس للإجماع، وأما التحري، واستصحاب الحال فتابعان للقياس وأما غايته فالفوز بسعادة الدارين ، والله سبحانه وتعالى أعظم الصواب".
ولأن الكتاب هو في العبادات والأحكام، بدأ بـ "مطلب في تعريف الفقه" وتوزع على 1- كتاب الطهارة، 2- كتاب الصلاة، 3- وختم بـ 3- باب الإمامة وأحكامها.
