يأتي هذا الكتاب من ضمن سلسلة تراث وآثار الشهيد مرتضى مطهري التي تُعنى بالتراث الفكري والديني والفلسفي للسيد "مرتضى مطهري" ونشرها. وفي هذا الكتاب إطلالة على ثلاثة كتب هي من أهم أعمال مطهري:
(1) كتاب فلسفة الأخلاق في الإسلام وفيه نقرأ الفرق بين الأفعال الأخلاقية والأفعال الأخرى مع نماذج لبعض الأفعال الأخلاقية في الإسلام منها العفو والتسامح، يتبع ذلك تحليل لأربعة نظريات في الأخلاق من وجهة نظر مطهري وعلماء نفس وفلاسفة ومتدينين. وهذه النظريات هي: 1- النظرية العاطفية في الأخلاق، 2- نظرية الإرادة، 3- نظرية الوجدان في الأخلاق، 4- نظرية الجمال في الأخلاق إضافة إلى مفاهيم فلسفية شتى تبحث في عالم الروح والنفس ومعرفة الذات، والعلاقة بين حرية الإنسان ووجود الله، والعرفان، والثورة ومفهوم التكامل إلى آخر ذلك من نظريات. (2) كتاب الضوابط الخلقية للسلوك الجنسي ونقرأ فيه: الجنس .. علاقة طاهرة أم خطيئة في الأصل؟ ، الأخلاق الجنسية، مبدأ الحرية، الحب والعفاف ... الخ. (3) كتاب المواعظ والحكم ويضم مجموعة بحوث ومقالات وأحاديث للسيد مطهري وهي تعكس ثقافة الإسلام والمفاهيم السامية للدين الإسلامي الحنيف تهدف إلى إرشاد المسلمين إلى تلمس معاني الدين كما أرادها تعالى لعباده الصالحين. ونقرأ فيه: معرفة الله أساس إنساني، معرفة الله أساس الدين، الدين سند السعادة، أركان السعادة البشرية، محاسبة النفس، حقيقة الزهد، خصائص الحق في نظر الإمام علي، تربية علي عليه السلام أو منزلة نهج البلاغة، الموت في نظر رجال الله، ضرورة إرفاق العلم بالعمل ... الخ.
كتاب جامع نتلمس بين صفحاته، أفكار الشهيد ببساطتها وعمقها، ونفسه الإصلاحي الذي يرى فيه أن المجتمع هو الأساس في عملية التغيير، وأن المؤسسة الدينية هي الأداة الفاعلة في هذه العملية، وضرورة تقويمها وتوجيهها نحو تحقيق الأهداف الإسلامية العليا.
