قصة على لسان راوي تدور أحداثها بين مجموعة من الأشخاص هم: الأب: الصياد أبو سعد، الابن: سعد، أبو غزيل، ملك، الفلاح، الأرملة، خياله. وتبدأ القصة كالتالي: كان ياما كان صياد اسمه أبو سعد. وكان له ابن اسمه سعد، كان على سعد الصغير أن يرعى خراف الملك. قطع ذات مرة غصن صفصاف ونجر منه قصبة وراح يعزف عليها بشكل أخاذ, مما جعل الكل من حوله يدبب أذنيه ويخلد للصمت. أراد الجميع الاستماع إلى أسطورة الطائر ذي الريش الأزرق. راح سعد يعزف لحناً مرحاً أحياناً, فيترك العمال الموسميون والفلاحون المنجل والمذراة ويرقصون.....
