لقد كان للسانيات المعاصرة، وبخاصة اللسانيات السكرونية الواصفة، الدور الأساسي في التأسيس لخطاب نقدي معاصر تجاوز الأطروحات السياقية (التاريخية، النفسية، الإجتماعية) للتأسيس لطرح يتبنى المقاربة الواصفة انطلاقاً من النسق العام للنصوص الإبداعية في بنيتها الخاصة.
الشعر الجاهلي من النصوص الإبداعية التي حاولت القراءة النسقية مقاربتها، انطلاقاً من نسقها العام المؤسس لبناها العامة وصولاً إلى بناها الخاصة، فأثارت القراءة النسقية جملة من القضايا التي رأت أنها مؤسسة لبنية النص الشعري الجاهلي من مثل مسألة: الوحدة والتفكك والثنائيات الضدية، والتألف الشفهي والبنية الإيقاعية وغيرها. ومن ثم يحاول هذا المؤلف التأسيس لحقل نقد النقد بوصفه حقلاً معرفياً يشتغل على لغة النقد كونها لغة واصفة لغة إبداعية.
