هذا هو الجزء العاشر من كتاب (الخلافة) الذي يتحدث عن إمامة وخلافة علي بن أبي طالب رضي الله عنه ويتضمن (الباب الثامن) مسلطاً الضوء على مرحلة (ما بعد النهروان).
جاء الكتاب باللغتين العربية والفرنسية ويتضمن مجموعة خطب وكتب مرسلة من الإمام علي (ع) إلى الولايات الإسلامية وهو في مسيرة الجهاد وصولاً حتى استشهاده. ومن هذه الخطب ما فيها: إستنفار الناس إلى أهل الشام بعد فراغه من أمر الخوارج وفيها ينصح لهم بطرق السداد، وفيها أيضاً كلامه مع أهل الكوفة، وكذلك خطبه عليه السلام في الموعظة وبيان قرباه من رسول الله، ومن كتاب له عليه السلام إلى عمر بن أبي سلمة المخزومي، ثم: كتاب له عليه السلام إلى محمد بن أبي بكر لما بلغه توجده من عزله بالإشتر عن مصر، أيضاً كتاب له عليه السلام إلى عبد الله بن العباس، بعد مقتل محمد بن أبي بكر، كذلك كتاب له إلى عمرو بن العاص إلى آخر ذلك من كتاب كان قد بعث بها عليه السلام أثناء توليه الخلافة.
كذلك يشتمل الكتاب مجموعة من أقوال الإمام علي (ع) ومنها نقرأ:
لا تشهدوا قول الزور.
عقو عن أولادكم في اليوم السابع، وتصدقوا إذا حلقتكم رؤوسكم بوزن شعورهم فضة، فإنه واجب على كل مسلم وكذلك فعل رسول الله (ص) بالحسن والحسين.
أحسنوا صحبة النعم قبل فواتها فإنها تزول وتشهد على صاحبها بما عمل فيها.
من رضي من الله باليسير من الرزق رضي الله منه باليسير من العمل.
أما من وصية رسول الله (ص) لأمير المؤمنين (ع) نقرأ.
يا علي ثلاث ثوابهن في الدنيا والآخرة: الحج ينفي الفقر والصدقة تدفع البلية وصلة الرحم تزيد في العمر.
يا علي كل عين باكية يوم القيامة إلا ثلاث أعين: عين سهرت في سبيل الله وعين غضت عن محارم الله وعين فاضت من خشية الله.
