يحتوي هذا الكتاب على رسالتين هما من إعداد الشيخ محمد بن أبي سعيد الهروي، الأولى جاءت بعنوان "بحر الغرائب" وهي تشتمل على شرح لأسماء الله المتعال، مع تبيان لخواصها، ولطريقة استعمالها من قبل أساتذة أهل هذا الفن في تحصيل العرفان، والسعادة، وقضاء الحوائج، وحصول المرادات، وتنفيذ المطالب، وأداء القروض، وشفاء المرضى ورفع الهموم، والغموم، والاضطراب، وحصول المرادات المهمة، وغيرهما من المطالب المشروعة، كما وأضاف المؤلف إلى حاشية هذه الرسالة مجموعة من الأوراد والأذكار السريعة التأثير ...
أما في الرسالة الثانية والمعنونة بـ"منتخب الختوم"، فتحتوي على جم غفير من الختوم المجربة والآيات القرآنية المؤثرة وأسماء الله الجلالية وبعض الأذكار والأدوار والدعوات المستجابة. وهذا الكتاب يشمل ثلاث أبوبا وخاتمة، الباب الأول: في الختوم المتعلقة بالآيات والسور والكلمات القرآنية. الباب الثاني: في الختوم المتعلقة بالكلمات والدعوات المأثورة عن الأئمة الطاهرين، صلوات الله عليهم أجمعين. الباب الثالث: في الختوم المتعلقة بالصلاة الواردة عن أئمة الدين المبين والخاتمة في بيان مطلق الدعوات والأذكار الأخرى.
