فيما يتناول الفصل الثالث التغطية الصحفية لشؤون الصحافة المتخصصة بعد تقديم مدخل لمفهوم التغطية الصحفية لغية وإصطلاحاً وصفات التغطية وأنواعها وعناصرها وأسسها ومصادرها ومراحلها، ثم يتطرق إلى التغطية الصحفية لشؤون الصحافة النسوية، والصحافة الرياضية، وصحافة الأطفال وصحافة الشؤون العسكرية، وصحافة الشؤون الفنية، وصحافة شؤون الجريمة، وصحافة الشؤون العلمية، وصحافة الشؤون الإسلامية، وصحافة الشؤون السياسية، وصحافة الشؤون البيئية.
