ويشهد إختلافُ هذه العقائد، بل وتصادمها في كثير من الأحيان، على أنها ليست من الوحي ولا حتى الإلهام الإلهيّ في شيء.
إنّ البحث في تفاصل تاريخ تلك المجريات، والتغييرات، والإختلافات، وأسبابها، والظروف التي أحاطت بها، والنتائج التي تمخّضت عنها، هو موضوع هذا الكتاب.
