إن وضع النصوص المدروسة في نطاقها الثقافي يتطلب الإستعانة بأدوات النقد الثقافي، الذي يحمل همّ إستنطاق النصوص وقراءة ما خلف السطور، وفتح آفاقه على سياقات أكثر رحابة من تلك التي فرضتها المدرسة البنيوية والأسلوبية على العملية النقدية، وعزلت النص عن أنساقه الثقافية.
على ضوء ذلك يأتي منهج هذه الدراسة تأويلياً ثقافياً، يعتمد على إستخراج أبجديات بارزة يدور حولها النص، وتحمل أبعاداً ثقافية كاشفة للإرث الثقافي الضارب في جذور المجتمع.
ومن هنا، فإن أهمية الدراسة تكمن في كشف الدلالات الثقافية الخاصة بالمجتمع اليمني، وموقفه حيال كثير من القضايا العامة والخاصة، ورصد التحولات الثقافية الحاصلة بفعل التغيرات المكانية والزمانية.
وعلى أن هذه الدراسة قد خضعت للتقسيم التالي: التمهيد: تناولت فيه المؤلفة تحديد مصطلحات عنوان البحث، الجزء التطبيقي، وعنوانه "تشكل الأنساق الثقافية في إنتاج النوع السردي".
وقد قسم الكتاب إلى الفصول بحسب الدلالة الثقافية الغالبة للنصوص، أي نابعاً من خصوصية كل نص وإتجاهاته الثقافية في الطرح والمعالجة، وقد جاء التقسيم كالآتي: الفصل الأول: بعنوان "السلطة والنوع السردي، قراءة في روايتي: طائر الخراب وعرس الوالد"، الفصل الثاني: بعنوان "ثنائية الذكورة والأنوثة بين الغربة والإغتراب "قراءة في روايتي" "رجال الثلج"، و"عقيلات"، الفصل الثالث: بعنوان "أبجدية الجسد... بين الحضور والغياب" قراءة في روايتي: "الرهينة" و "إنه جسدي"، الفصل الرابع: يأتي بعنوان "ركائز إنتاج السرد اليمني المعاصر".
