ثمة حقيقة مفادها؛ أنّه ليس شيء أمسّ حاجةً للمسلمين، ولا أشدّ نفعاً لواقعهم اليوم من التقريب والوحدة فيما بينهم، فالإسلام الذي بلَغه الرسول الأكرم صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم هو الثابت الذي لم يتغيّر، لكن الذي أصابه التغيّر إنّما هو خريطة واقع المسلمين، فكما أنّ عصور الإزدهار لم تلمع في سمائهم فجأةً، كذلك عصور الإنحسار لم تتجمّع سحبها القاتمة ذات يوم، وإنّما حدث كلّ ذلك كنتيجة طبيعية لواقع متقلّب، مثمر تارة ومجدب أخرى، فهو مثمر في ظلّ التعاون ووحدة الصفّ، ومجدب كإفراز لواقع عانى كثيراً من الفرقة والتناحر.
وهذا الكتاب يبرز الأدلّة من السنّة الشريفة التي تشير إلى وجود جذور صحيحة في الإسلام لقضية الوحدة والتقريب بين المذاهب الإسلامية لعلّها تفيد المصلحين في كلّ مكان.
