عبد العزيز الثعالبي هو "أبو الدستور" كما يلقبه الشيخ "عبد الحميد بن باديس". كما أنه بطل من خيرة الأبطال وزعيم وعلم من أعلام الأمة العربية، إضافة إلى كونه سياسي خطير واجتماعي كبير وفيلسوف جليل ورحالة شهير ومؤرخ عظيم وقد توفي الثعالبي يوم 2 أكتوبر 1944.
هذا الكتاب يقدم بعضاً من تراث الثعالبي الذي نشر في مجلة الرابطة العربية القاهرية، التي كانت علاقة الثعالبي بها تتجاوز علاقة الكاتب بمنبر لأفكاره لكنها علاقة الزعيم بثمرة من ثمرات جهاده. ومن بين التراث الضخم الذي تركه الثعالبي يحوي هذا الكتاب على مقالات تناول فيها صاحبها مسألة نهضة العرب والوحدة العربية وأمراض العالم العربي وكيفية نشأتها، إضافة إلى مقالات أخرى يتناول فيها مسألة وحدة المغرب العربي والكفاح السياسي في تونس.
كما يضم الكتاب أيضاً مجموعة مقالات كتب في وداع الثعالبي إلى بعد الاحتفاء به في القاهرة. ومعلومات عن رحلته إلى الهند للدفاع عن قضايا المسلمين هناك.
