يشكل هذا الكتاب دراسة مهمة عن دور (النقود والبنوك) في النشاط الإقتصادي، كما يبرز دورهما من المنظور التقليدي ومن المنظور الإسلامي، لذلك يمكن اعتباره مرجعاً متكاملاً في إقتصاديات النقود والبنوك مناسباً لتدريس مقرر (النقود والبنوك) في الجامعات، من حيث موضوعاته وطريقة شرحه والوسائل الإيضاحية والمواد المعنية للأساتذة والطلاب معاً.
يتألف هذا الكتاب من ستة أجزاء تضم أربعة عشر فصلاً. يقدم الجزء الأول الذي يتكون من فصلين: نشأة وتطور النقود، والنظم والقواعد النقدية التي عرفت وطبقت عبر التاريخ. أما الجزء الثاني فيضم خمسة فصول، تتناول نظريات الطلب على النقود، ونماذج كينز وهيكس واستخداماتها في تحليل السياسة الإقتصادية، والتوازن الإقتصادي الكلي، ونظريات التضخم. يقدم الكتاب البنوك التجارية التقليدية، طريقة عملها ودورها في الإقتصادي، والأساليب المثلى لإدارة سيولة وربحية البنوك التجارية. كما تناول الفصل الأخير من هذا الجزء طريقة عمل البنوك الإسلامية. ويستكمل الجزء الرابع موضوع البنوك فيتناول موضوع البنوك المركزية، وكيفية إدارتها للسياسة النقدية. وقد خصص الجزء الخامس للنقود والبنوك في المعاملات الدولية، فيتناول الفصل الثالث عشر النقود الدولية وسعر الصرف، ثم يستعرض بإيجاز طريقة عمل البنوك الدولية ونشاطاتها. وأما الجزء السادس والأخير من الكتاب فخصص لموضوع تقنية المعلومات والإتصالات في البنوك.
تجدر الإشارة إلى أنه، تم إعداد ملفات عرض الكترونية (MS – Power Point) لجميع فصول الكتاب، تضم عرضاً موجزاً للنقاط الرئيسية لكل فصل، والأشكال البيانية والجداول توفيراً لوقت وجهد الأساتذة ... كما تم إعداد ملفات أخرى (MS – Word) لبنك الأسئلة، تضم أسئلة اختيار متعدد مع الأجوبة الصحيحة تطلب من الناشر.
