ولا ينسى الكتاب أن يعرض للنثر الجاهلي بدراسة مفصّلة للخطابة والأمثال والوصايا والقصص والرسائل والوصف والمحاورة ويحيط اللثام عن خصائصه.
وفي آخر الكتاب مسرد بالشعراء مرتبة أسماؤهم على الحروف مع ذكر لمحة موجزة جداً عن كل منهم.
