شعبة فريضة الصلاة هي إحدى شعب الإيمان, وأهمها بعد لا إله إلا الله, فهي عنوان إسلام المرء وبدونها لا يعرف. فقد فرضت الصلاة ليلة الإسراء والمعراج فوق سبع سماوات في السنة العاشرة من البعثة. وقد ثبتت فرضيتها في الكتاب والسنة, فقال تعالى: (إن الصلاة كانت على المؤمنين كتاباً موقوتاً). وكان من أهم ما عالجه الكتاب من مواضيع: متى وأين فرضت الصلاة, كم عدد الصلوات في اليوم والليلة, فضل الصلوات الخمس, حكم تارك الصلاة, المحاسبة على الصلاة, فضل صلاة الجماعة, أوقات الصلاة, فضل المساجد, الأذان, صفة الصلاة, كتاب الإمامة, صلاة النوافل, صلاة العيدين, خطبة الجمعة, وغيرها من المواضيع الهامة.
