نبتدئ هذا الكتاب بذكر الطهارة إذ كانت قبل الصلاة، فرأينا أن الطهارة إنما تكون بالماء، أو بالصعيد لمن لم يجد الماء من مسافر أو من لم يستطعه من عليل، فأردنا أن نبتدئ بذكر الماء والصعيد، فوجدنا الطهارة بالماء والصعيد إنما تجب من الأحداث التي توجب الطهارة فوجب أن نبتدئ بذكر الأحداث التي يجب الطهارة منها، ثم نشفعها بذكر الماء والصعيد، ثم نتلو ذلك بصفة الطهارة وحدودها، ثم ننسق عليها ذكر الصلاة وفروضها ومسنونها وصفاتها وحدودها، وكل ما نذكره في ذلك فعن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وعن الأئمة من أهل بيته صلوات الله عليهم أجمعين وإن حذفنا ذكر الأسانيد في بعض ذلك اختصاراً.
