عن دور الأدب في نقل الملاحم التاريخية، يقدم الدكتور عدنان علي رضا النحوي عرضاً نثرياً أقرب إلى لغة الشعر يرسم من خلاله قضية البوسنة والهرسك في بعدها الإيماني، حيث يرد ما حصل للمسلمين أثناء الأحداث الدامية في التسعينيات إلى (منهاج الله) ووسيلته في عرض أفكاره الأدب، لذلك يقول: " ... نؤمن أن الأدب له مهمة يؤديها وواجب يقوم به، وبخاصة في أمة الإسلام (...) إنها أمة لها رسالة عظيمة في الحياة، والأدب وسيلة من وسائل الوفاء بالرسالة وأداء الأمانة، وباب من أبواب البلاغ والبيان، وساحة في ميدان الجهاد، والملحمة إذا لم تساهم في أداء هذه الرسالة والأمانة والواجب تفقد مسوغ قيامها (...) ولا نهدف في هذه الملحمة أن نقدم سجلاً تاريخياً للأحداث، بقدر ما نهدف إلى أن نعرض منها ما يرسم القضية ويحللها ويعطي بعدها الإيماني وتصورها العادل الأمين (...)".
ولمزيد من التفاصيل حول رؤية الكاتب للعلاقة بين الإسلام ومسلمي أوروبا ودور الأدب في نقل الملاحم التاريخية الكبرى يقسم الكتاب إلى بابين وفصول ومباحث. جاء الكتاب الأول بعنوان: "البوسنة والهرسك بين نور الإسلام وظلام أوروبا. أما الباب الثاني فجاء بعنوان: "الملحمة الشعرية البوسنة والهرسك". وتحت هذين العنوانين تنطوي عدد من المباحث التي تناولت: الإفتتاح – تحية إلى البوسنة والهرسك، الأحزاب وكيدها، مصرع الأطفال والنساء والرجال، هدم المساجد وقتل المصلين فيها والأئمة، فتح البوسنة والهرسك ودخولهم في الإسلام ... الخ.
