لقد أثبت في أوله قواعد جد مبسطة، لا يستغني عنها المتعلم، ناهيك عن حاجة المبتدئ الماسة إليها، ويمتاز الكتاب الأبواب العديدة التي تتعلق بالمرء في جميع نواحي حياته، بينا الأبواب الرئيسية التالية: 1-محادثة على شكل سؤال وجواب: تتدرج من السهل فالصعب فالأصعب، 2-باب المراسلات بأنواعه الثلاثة، مراسلات خصوصية، ورسمية، وتجارية، مع شرح مفيد عن كل منها وكيفية كتابتها، 3-اصطلاحات هامة، 4-أمثلة قصيرة مألوفة يحتاج إليها المرء في حديثه أو كتابته.
