ليس معروفاً إذا ما كان "النقاش" اسماً أو لقباً أو ربما وهماً، ولكنه اشتهر بأنه جال قرى الشوف وعاليه ولقّب كل قرية باسم إحدى الحيوانات أو الطيور أو سواها، حتى غلبت ألقاب هذه القرى شعبياً على أسمائها. من هنا فقد بات "النقاش" وألقابه في صميم تراث تلك القرى، ما جعل نبيه فيصل يغوص غماراً صعبة ويدخل معركة أدبية شعبية شغلته عن كل ما عداها، خصوصاً وأن هذه الألقاب باتت موضوعاً شيقاً نسجت حوله الأقاصيص ونتجت عنه مقالب وسجالات بين أبناء القرى وأحياناً دخلت فيها شخصيات هي الأهم والأرفع ليس في الشوف وعاليه وحسب، بل على مستوى الوطن مما يدل على سعة أفق هؤلاء وروحهم المرحة ورقيّهم الفكري حيث لم يقفوا عند اللقب مهما كان قاسياً بل تجاوزوه إلى القيمة الأدبية التراثية التي يمثلها.
