تحفل المكتبة العربية بمئات الآلاف من الكتب والدراسات المصنفة في مختلف ميادين العلم والمعرفة، إلا أن الموسوعات العلمية الرصينة، أو المجامع المعرفية المتخصصة، تكاد تكون نادرة. من هنا تأتي هذه الموسوعة العلمية الرصينة "موسوعة كنوز المعرفة" لتسد ثغرة في صرح التصانيف العربية، ولتساهم في الإغناء المعرفي للطلاب بصورة خاصة وللقارئ المتخصص والمطلع والباحث بصورة عامة. وقد تميزت بأسلوبها المرتكز على منهج السؤال والجواب لإثارة فضول القارئ في البحث عن الحقيقة العلمية من جهة، ولإبعاد الرتابة والملل عن نفسه من جهة ثانية.
وتمّ تخصيص كل مجلد لموضوع من المواضيع. وقد جاءت على الشكل التالي: المجلد الأول: الفنون. وقد تمّ إفراد باب لكل فن من الفنون وهي: الرسم، النحت، الرسامون، والنحاتون في البلدان العربية في العصر الحديث، الموسيقى، أشهر الموسيقيين العرب والأجانب، المسرح، السينما، الغناء والرقص، الفن الإسلامي من قبل الإسلام إلى العصور الحديثة، الفنون الإسلامية الحديثة، فن العمارة الإسلامية، المنمنمات، الحروفية. وتمّ تخصيص المجلد الثاني لعالم الحيوان والملفت في هذا المجلد بأنه إلى جانب احتوائه على المعلومات الوافرة حول عالم الحيوان وذلك بأسلوب السؤال والجواب، تمّ إضافة ملاحق. كان الملحق الأول عن موطن الحيوان والثاني حول خصائصه والثالث حول علم الحيوان، أما الرابع فقد تمّ تخصيصه للحيوانات العربية الأصيلة وهي الخيول والإبل. وتمّ تضمين المحلق الرابع معلومات حول أولاد الحيوانات وجاء الملحق التاسع ليحمل مادة طريفة، وهي عن الأمثال في الحيوانات. هذا بالنسبة للمجلد الثاني، أما المجلد الثالث فقد جاء حول الاختراعات والاكتشافات. وسنقوم بذكر مواضيع المجلدات الأخرى في هذه الموسوعة على التوالي: الكيمياء، الأديان، الرياضيات، العلوم، الرياضة. وتجدر الإشارة إلى أن بعض المواضيع وعلى وفرة معلوماتها فإنها جاءت ضمن جزئين في المجلد الواحد.
