أسباب اختيار الموضوع... في الحقيقة... لم اختر هذا الموضوع، وإنما عثرت على الكتاب المخطوط صدفة، وأنا أنقب في سجلات الخزانة الحسنية، تحت عنوان جذاب هو "كتاب في الأدب والسياسية لأبي القاسم الزباني، فقادني فضولي العلمي إلى الإطلاع عليه، فأعجبني مضمونه مما جعلني أفكر في تحقيقه وتقديمه لنيل دبلوم الدراسات العليا للإعتبارات التالية:
-توفر هذا الكتاب / المخطوط على جم من النصوص المتنوعة منها ما هو نادر ومغمور لا نجده في سواه، ومنها ما هو متداول ومعروف في مجالات متنوعة: أشعال، أمثال وحكم، وقائع تاريخية من المشرق والمغرب، حكايات ترفيهية وخرافية ومقامات، بالإضافة إلى معلومات متنوعة في مجال الفكر وتوجيهات أخلاقية وتربوية.
فالكتاب إذن بكل هذه المحتويات بشكل كشكولاً لأجناس أدبية مختلفة.
-كون هذا الكتاب لشخصية مغربية لها وزنها، وهي الوزير والسفير أبو القاسم الزياني المعروف عند أغلب المهتمين بمؤرخ الدولة العلوية، فكانت هذه فرصة للكشف عن جانب آخر من جوانب هذه الشخصية، أعني بذلك الوجه الأدبي لهذا الرجل ومبادئه الإصلاحية والتربوية وهو ما لم يشر إليه أغلب الذين تناولوا إنتاجه بالدراسة.
-ظهور هذا الكتاب في عصر قيل إن أدبه اتخذ طابعاً فقهياً محافظاً، وهذا ما نقضه أبو القاسم في مؤلفه هذا، حيث تجرأ على إثارة موضوعات خارجة عن الحشمة والحياء مما هو غير مألوف عند المغاربة، الشيء الذي يجعلنا نعيد النظر في الحكم الصادر في حق هذا العصر، إلى جانب كوننا نكتشف الجانب الفكاهي من شخصية أبي القاسم.
ولم تكن هذه الإعتبارات لتحملني على هذا الإختيار، لو لم تصادف في نفسي رغبة ملحاحة في الإسهام بشيء من الجهد لإخراج مدفون الأدب المغربي إلى القراء قصد الإطلاع عليه والتعريف به حتى تصحيح الاحكام القاسية التي صدرت في حقه، وإتاحة الفرصة للمهتمين ليعيدوا كتابة تاريخ الأدب المغربي.
