الشيء الغريب في أمر المفرد العربي في اللغات الأجنبية أن أهل اللغة المستعيرة يستعملون المفرد العربي وهم لا يعرفون في كثير من الأحيان أنه عربي. من هنا برزت فكرة إعداد هذا القاموس لدى الباحث ليعرف أصحاب اللغة التي يدور البحث في ألفاظها ذات المنشأ العربي أن المفرد الذي ينطقونه ويستعملونه هو عربي مما يسرع في تعلمهم اللغة العربية. وقد لاحظ الباحث أن بعض الألفاظ العربية قد خرجت عما كان يريد بها العرب إلى معاني جديدة، بينما حافظت الألفاظ الدينية الإسلامية على معانيها وتوسعوا في بعض الألفاظ الأخرى التي تمس الحياة وشؤون المجتمع والاقتصاد.
وهذا ما حاول الكشف عنه في معجمه هذا إذ أنه قدّم دراسة حول انحراف الألف باء العربية بعد أن اتخذت اللغات التي تناولها في هذا المعجم الحرف اللاتيني وأصبح الحرف العربي يعبر عنه بأكثر من حرف لاتيني مبيناً طرق إملاء وتهجي بعض المفردات العربية في هذه اللغات والتي يكون أبعدهما عن صواب نطقها أقدمها استعارة من العربية ويمكن القول بأن هذا المعجم يمثل مرحلة أولية للباحث الغاية منها وضع معجم لكل لغة من لغات العالم يجمع فيه المفرد العربي المستعار في كل منها. وقد عني الباحث وكخطوة أولية في هذين الكتابين اللذين بين يدي القارئ بجمع الأول منهما المفردات العربية المستعارة في اللغات: الماليزية، الأندونيسية، السواحيلية، الهَوسا، اليوربا. وجمع الكتاب الثاني المفردات العربية المستعملة أو المستعارة في كل من اللغات الأجنبية التالية: التركية، الفارسية، الكردية الكرمانجية.
