يتحدث هذا الكتاب عن سيرة الإمام أبو محمد الحسن المجتبى (الإمام الحسن بن علي) سبط رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وأول مولود ولد في الإسلام لأهل البيت عليهم السلام، أمه فاطمة الزهراء، قال عنه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: الحسن والحسين سيد شباب أهل الجنة.
ولعظيم قدر الحسن المجتبى ومكانته في الإسلام يضع السيد قاسم الموسوي كتابه الموسوم بـ (ومضات من حياة الإمام الحسن بن علي) على ثلاثة مراحل: المرحلة الأولى: في عهد طفولته مع جده وأمه وأبيه، والمرحلة الثانية: في حياة حداثة سنة وشبابه معى أبيه الإمام علي (رضي الله عنه)، والمرحلة الثالثة: هي بعد شهادة أبيه الإمام أمير المؤمنين علي بن أبي طالب (رضي الله عنه) وخلافته بعد أبيه إلى يوم شهادته، إضافة إلى باقة من فضائله ومناقبه وجوده رضي الله عنه.
وعلى هذا، جاء هذا الكتاب شاملاً لما كان عليه الإمام المجتبى من حكمة وتعقل وحسن سياسة وتدبير في عهد خلافته، فقد جمع المؤلف كل ما جاء من روايات صحيحة حوله من حديث رسول الله وأئمة أهل البيت وعلماء المسلمين المتقدمين والمتأخرين ومسك الختام "فضل ويارة الإمام الهمام الحسن بن علي) وصلوات وزيارات يقولها المسلم استحباباً بريحانة رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم.
