يشكل هذا الكتاب قراءة في حياة وديوان "تامر الملاط" (1956- 1914) / شاعرٌ فيلسوف وقاضٍ جريء عاش في لبنان زمن المتصرفية متألقاً في الأدب والقضاء له في الشعر هذا الديوان، وفي القضاء إجتهادات صدر بعضها في كتاب أحكام (بيروت، 1999).
يجمع هذا الكتاب آثار تامر الملاط الشعرية كاملة، أشرف على وضعه وجدي الملاط - ابن شاعر الأرز شبلي الملاط - وشرح الديوان وحققه الدكتور عاطف عواد، والديوان يرتكز على مجموعة القصائد والأشعار، التي كان قد تم نشرها في صورة أصلية ملونة عن المخطوط الأصلي.
تميز الديوان بمقدمة وجدي الملاط، كما إزدان بنصٍّ عن "وقفة الحازمية" بقلم ابن عم الشاعر "هيام"، الحافظ لتاريخ العائلة، وببعض النصوص مما اختارها للديوان الدكتور عاطف جميل عوّاد.
وبناءً على ما تقدم تم تقسيم محتويات الديوان (الآثار الشعرية الكاملة) إلى عناوين رئيسية تضمنت الأغراض الشعرية للديوان وهي: "الحكمة"، و"المدح"، الوصف"، "الإخاء"، "الرثاء"، "الغزل"، "شعر المناسبات"، وأخيراً "شهادات مختارة في تامر الملاط".
وخلاصة القول أن تامر الملاط شاعرٌ لبناني قلّما نبغ له نظير في شعراء العربية، منذ صَدْر القرن التاسع عشر إلى اليوم، تشهد بذلك أشعاره، والتي لا بدّ أن يكتشف القارئ لها؛ روحاً تضاهي في خزانة الشعر العربي أصالة أبي الطيب المتنبي وحكمة أبي العلاء المعري، وذكريات الزمن الجميل...
