وجاء الكتاب ليعالج أبرز المذاهب والحركات الدينية التي أمنت بالظهور الثاني للسيد المسيح وتأسيس مملكة الخلاص العصور الوسطى وحتى ظهور طوائف مثل المورمون (كنيسة قديسي يسوع المسيح لليوم الآخر) وشهود يهوه والداوديين والفكر السياسي الذي قدمته هذه الحركات وطبيعة العلاقة التي جمعتها مع الديانة اليهودية وتأسيس دولة إسرائيل في العصر الحديث.
