احتوى هذا الكتاب على خمسة فصول رئيسية، تناول الفصل الأول منها الكتابة العربية بنشأتها وتطورها وقد عرض فيها مفهوم الكتابة وأهميتها ونشأتها وأصل اللغة العربية والخطوط السامية وأطوار الكتابة وأصل الخط العربي. بينما تناول الفصل الثاني قواعد الرسم في الكتابة العربية وقد عرض فية الحروف الشمسية والحروف القمرية. فيما تناول الفصل الثالث دراسات في الأخطاء وقد عرض فيه الدراسات العربية والأجنبية والتي تناولت الأخطاء الإملائية ومقترحات علاجها، فيما تناول الفصل الرابع أنواع الأخطاء في الرسم الكتابي وأسبابها، وقد عرض فيه أنواع الأخطاء، فيما تناول الفصل الخامس مقترحات معالجة الأخطاء الإملائية والمقترحات اللازمة لمعالجتها.
