"حكاية حلم" هي حكاية مستلهمة من حكايات التراث القديمة، وقد وردت في أكثر من صيغة في أكثر من بلد. لكن أشهرها ما ورد في "ألف ليلة وليلة": (الرجل الذي أصبح غنياً من خلال حلم). وبعد ذلك نشأت حكايات استوحت أحداثها، في كثير من بلدان العالم الشرقية والغربية.
وتأتي هذه الحكاية ضمن سلسلة "حكاية من الشرق" وهي استلهام التراث الشرقي بإعادة كتابة بعض حكاياته المشهورة بتصرّف، وهذه الحكايات، وإن كانت متنوعة المصادر، إنما يجمعها الخط الحكائي الذي له سحره الخاص، وقد أُعيدت كتابة هذه الحكايات وفق تخيّل جديد، وإضافات فرضتها عملية البناء والسرد، مع الحفاظ على روح الحكاية الأصلية...
وقد تكاملت رسوم السلسلة مع نصوصها، وتحاكت معها لتجمع بين الحداثة والتراث بصور جديدة غنية بالحيوية، والخيال الموحي والمحرّض.
