ولا بد لنا حين نتحدث عن الصحافة أن نذكر أهم فنونها التي تعيد لنا صياغة كل الوقائع والأحداث ليصل لنا بصورة جميلة بسيطة يستطيع أي واحد منا أن يتعامل معها ويفهمها ألا وهو التحرير الصحفي.
إذن لو أردنا تعريف هذا الفن (التحرير الصحفي) سنقول إنه هو الفن الذي يقوم الصحفي من خلاله بالتعبير عما يدور أو يجري في المجتمع من وقائع وأحداث من خلال أشكال فنية تتبع قواعد وأسساً معينة لا بد أن يعرفها ويعيها جيداً.
