يشرح هذا الكتاب مفاهيم علم الجمال الماركسي ويدرس خصائص موقف الإنسان الجمال إزاء الواقع، أي تآلف الإنسان مع الأشياء الجمالية: مع الأعمال الفنية ونتاجات الديزاين، ومع البشر الآخرين والطبيعة، وكذلك خصائص نشاط البشر الجمالي الهادف إلى تغيير الطبيعة والإنسان والمجتمع "طبقاً قوانين الجمال"، وايضاً يدرس علم الجمال الماركسي الليني بواعث هذا الموقف: المتطلبات والمصالح والأهداف الجمالية، وكذلك الخصائص المميزة لمختلف أنواع التآلف الجمالي والنشاط الجمالي، كالديزاين والإبداع الفني والتربية الجمالية وغيرها.
