Book Description
يدور موضوع الكتاب حول الخطوط الأساسية للتراث الفلكي الذي أفرزته الحضارة العربية والإسلامية، وإبراز الدور الحضاري والعلمي للفلك العربي الإسلامي، ومدى علاقة هذا الفلك بالفلك الحديث.
وفي الكتاب يبين المؤلف عبد الأمير المؤمن عمارته الفلكية على أساس ما جاء في القرآن الكريم من حث العقل وتوجيهه النظر إلى الكون والتفكر في خلق السماوات والأرض، وإستخلاص القوانين والنواميس الطبيعية من خلال ذلك النظر، حيث يبرز المؤلف ما ورد في كتاب الله عزّ وجلّ من تلك الآيات، ومنها قوله تعالى: "فلم ينظروا إلى السماء فوقهم كيف بنيناها وزيناها ومالها من فروج"، وحتى المفردات كالأرض والسماء والشمس والقمر والنجوم، وردت بكثرة واضحة؛ فقد وردت كلمة الأرض (461) مرّة، وكلمة السماء والسماوات (310) مرّات، والشمس (33) مرّة، والقمر (27) مرّة، وكلمتا النجم والنجوم (13) مرّة وغيرها...
وفي هذا السياق أيضاً يوضح المؤلف إرتباط الأحكام الشرعية بمجموعة معقدة من المسائل الفلكية وخاصة تلك التي تتعلق بعلم الفلك الرياضي... من قبيل تحديد الوقت أو مشاكل التقويم، وغيرها من الإشارات، بالإضافة إلى عرض لإسهام علماء الفلك المسلمين وإنجازاتهم التي اعترف بها الشرق والغرب مثل العالِم ابن الهيثم رائد المنهج العلمي الإستقرائي.
كما يتضح ذلك في كتابه (المناظر)، وأبو الريحان البيروتي الذي كان رائداً كبيراً آخراً من رواد المنهج العلمي، وغيرها من إسهامات يضيء عليها الكتاب؛ فكانت المراصد الفريدة، وكانت الدراسات الفلكية داخل ميدان المرصد، وكانت الجداول الفلكية (الزيجات) خلاصات لقياسات أبعاد الكواكب وأحجامها ونسب بعضها إلى بعض، وكانت قياسات رائعة لمحيط الأرض وغير ذلك مما جاءت به حضارة العرب والمسلمين على مرّ التاريخ.
