وفي هذا العمل يقترب الروائي من ملحمة "غلغامش" بأبعادها الإنسانية الخالدة في جميع الأزمان والأمكنة، وبما أثارته من قضايا لا تزال تشغل بال الإنسان وتفكيره وتؤثر في حياته العاطفية والفكرية، وهذا ما يتضح لنا عند قراءتنا لهذا العمل الذي طرح من خلاله هيثم الطيب تساؤلات شتى عن قيمة الحياة، وما بعد الموت، والخلود ووضع الإنسان في حياة ملؤها الألم. يقول "لقد كنت وما زلت مؤمناً بأن الألم كان دافعاً نبيلاُ لهذه الحياة بوصفه حقيقة بجب التركز على لحظة انطلاقها حتى يصبح الزمن مقطوعاً ويتجاوزني وبمثل هذا التركيز سأكون منجذباً إلى حالة من النشوة المختبئة في غاية الحياة الحقيقية الوحيدة، الحب...".
