Book Description
كان الأستاذ العلامة أحمد تيمور باشا (1871هـ-1930م) من أكابر علماء العصر. أحب العربية الحب الجم، وقرأ على أئمتها وفي مقدمتهم الأستاذ الإمام محمد عبده، والأستاذ محمد محمود التركزي الشنقيطي. وشغف قلبه التراث العربي بنفائسه وكنوزه، فراح يبحث وينقر عن مكنوناته، وأنفق ما أنفق بسخاء حتى اكتملت له مكتبة من المخطوطات النوادر وقفها من بعد على الباحثين والدارسين.
أكب على الدرس والبحث دون كلال، وجمع من الفوائد والفرائد ما نسقه كتباً ومقالات غميسة. وكان كثير التدقيق لا يتعجل، ويتعقب الفائدة تلو الفائدة يلتقطها من تلك المطالعات الواسعة في بطون الكتب والمخطوطات. ولما انتقل إلى جوار ربه ورضوانه، كانت جملة طيبة من مؤلفاته مازالت مخطوطات لم تر النور بعد، فتنادى محبوه وعارفو فضله لنشرها.
لقد كان عظيماً العصر، جمع إلى العلم والمعرفة الخلق الكريم والسجايا الحميدة، والتواضع المحبب، وكان يسرع إلى تلبية من يطلب عونه، ويقدم بالرضا والارتياح، من المصادر والمراجع النادرة، ما يسعف الباحثين والدارسين ليؤدوا للعربية وعلومها خير ما عندهم، فتعلقت القلوب بحبه، وأجله إخوانه وأصدقاؤه، وأحلوه بينهم المكانة الرفيعة. ولما فارق دنيانا إلى الخلود أحس عارفوه جسامة ما نزال به، وتتابعوا يتحدثون عنه، ويعددون مناقبه ومآثره في مقالاتهم وخطبهم، إكباراً له وتقديراً للمنزلة التي كانت له في نفوسهم.
والتحدث عن العلماء وذكر سيرهم أمر له شأنه وخطره في حياة الأمة الثقافية، ومسيرتها الحضارية. وقد عني أسلافنا العرب أتم عناية بتراجم العلماء، وألفوا في ذلك التآليف المختلف التي تحفظ مآثرهم وتشيد بأعمالهم، وتلبي مطالب الأجيال اللاحقة التي تتطلع إلى معرفة الماضي الحضاري بكل جوانبه، وتتبع ما صنع الأجداد لتوثيق الصلة بين الحاضر والماضي، استشرافاً للمستقبل الواعد.
وتمسكاً بهذه السنة الحميدة فقد نهض الأستاذ محمد بن ناصر العجمي بجمع طائفة من المقالات التي كتبها أصدقاء الفقيد تيمور وخلطاؤه الذين عرفوه أحسن المعرفة، وخبروه في جميع مواقفه، وكانوا ألصق الناس به، فقام بطبعها تعريفاً بقدر الأستاذ الكبير، ثم علق عليها تعليقات نافعة مفيدة، فقدم بذلك خدمة جليلة للأجيال الناشئة التي يحسن أن تعرف ما فعل الأجداد وما قدموا ليعود للأرض العربية خصبها، ونماء نتاجها.
